Rajasthan Tourism Holiday welcomes you to have a beautiful tour of Rural Rajasthan Tour, which will enable you to journey into the villages, farms and desert people of Rajasthan. As opposed to the normal tours which visit forts and palaces alone, the plan will take you to the very core of Rajasthan which is the villages.
Rajasthan is not just a place of kings, castles and camels. It is also concerning mud houses, painted walls, women walking with pots on their heads, farmers at work in the fields, children in their play with clay toys and elders under the banyan tree telling stories. The traditional part of the region of Rajasthan demonstrates how a simple life may be, but full of colors, music, and happiness.
The tour is an 8-day one that includes Jaipur, Samode, Pushkar, Jodhur, Bishnoi Village, Jaisalmer, Khuri, and Barmer. There will be folk dances, puppet shows, camel riding, village fairs, and of course, you will taste food cooked on clay pots. You will do sightseeing every day, you will know more about village life, and you will be relaxing in peaceful locations.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Jaipur Arrival Local Bazaars and Village Haat.
Enter Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and sleep after having a glimpse into your hotel. Visit Chokhi Dhani, a reorganized village in the afternoon demonstrating how the people in Rajasthan live. There you will be able to observe folk dances, such as Kalbeliya (snake dance) and Ghoomar, ride a camel, visit puppet show, and taste the food on leaf plates. Dholak and sarangi are played by villagers. There are swings, magic shows, and pottery enjoyed by children. After dark, take a short stroll through the Jaipur village market where farmers and artisans are selling vegetables, clay pots and hand made goods.
Day 2: Havelis and Rural Crafts
In the morning, visit the small village near Jaipur called Samode which has its royal haveli and village life. Go to the Samode Haveli to observe antique painted walls and the courtyards.
Go through the small village streets. Mud houses with rangoli and painted walls you will find. Females wear colorful lehenas, males wear turbans and children run around bare-footed. Pay a visit to the lac bangle, pottery, block printing artisans.
One can have lunch in a local dhani (small rural resort) where food is prepared on clay stoves – bajra roti, ghee, chutney and dal.
In the evening visit a village family to take tea. You can hear their day-to-day stories sitting on a charpai (woven cot). Overnight at Samode or Jaipur.
Day 3: Pushkar Elastic Lake and Camel Fair.
Go to Pushkar, a desert encircled town. Upon arrival in the hotel, go to the holy Pushkar Lake where pilgrims get holy dips. The rituals are done by priests, and the clatter of bells is soft and creating a soothing effect.
Then walk to the Brahma Temple which is one of the few temples of Lord Brahma. It is not complicated and but possesses immense religious worth.
Spend the night at the Pushkar Bazaar. Here one will find the villagers of the surrounding desert regions selling hand crafts, leather bags, silver jewelry and colored turbans. When you arrive during the Camel Fair season, you will come across thousands of camels in full ornamentation.Stay in a village equipped camp on the outskirts of Pushkar and listen to folk songs under the moon.
Day 4: Jodhpur -The Blue City and Village Tour.
Drive to Jodhpur also known as the Blue City. Have a break then go and see Mehrangarh Fort and its huge construction. Then go to the country side of Jodhpur.Take a day outing to the neighboring Salawas Village where durry is weaved (carpets made of cotton). Get to know artisans in their households and watch them weaving using wooden looms. They also do each stage step by step and you might even give it a shot and weave a small design.
Take a walk in the blue houses of Jodhpur of the evening. The roads are full of children playing, cows walking and spices shops. Overnight at Jodhpur and dinner.
Day 5: Bishnoi Village- Eco-friendly living.
Today, we are going to visit Bishnoi Village approximately 25 km of Jodhpur. Bishnoi people are famous with their animal and nature love.
Begin by a jeep safari in the village. You will find blackbucks and chinkaras strolling freely since they are guarded by villagers. Houses are circular huts constituted by mud and dung plastered walls which are quite cool even during summer.
Get to know some village ladies in heavy silver jewelry and ghagras. They demonstrate how to make bajra roti on open fire and how to make buttermilk churning. The specialties of artisans here are pottery and weaving.Lunch may be organized in a village house when you will be sitting on the floor and having lunch with the family. The day is completed with evening camp fire and folk songs. Spend the night in Bishnoi village or Jodhpur.
Day 6: Jaisalmer -Golden Fort and Village life.
Go to Jaisalmer the Golden City. Hotel check-in Visit Jaisalmer Fort, where people continue to live within the walls. Pass down aisles of stores that deal with puppets, wooden boxes, and embroidered garments.Then, drive to a local rural village to explore the way people reside in the desert. The simplicity of life here is demonstrated by mud houses whose doors are painted, women who bring water to the wells, and children who flock goats.
Dinner will be made in a desert kind of a camp. Dine on local food and listen to folk singers singing the stories of kings, battles and love. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 7: Khuri and barmer- Desert Dunes and Rural handicrafts.
In the morning we will be riding to Khuri village where we will have sand dunes. We take a ride on a camel to the desert. The dunes are quite silent and you hear mostly the bells of the camel. Watch the orange sunset sitting on the sand.We later visit Barmer that specializes in handicraft. The villagers there are masters of mirror work embroidery, wood carving and pottery. You may purchase small trifles directly in them
We spend the evening staying in a rural camp where we have the opportunity to watch folk dance, simple food and a sky full of stars. We shall stay in the night in Barmer or Khuri.
Day 8: Jaisalmer leave within information
Eat breakfast in camp or hotel. Visit Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer which is enclosed by ghats and shrines, in case you have time. Take your seat and observe the fowl sporting in the lake.And much later we drive away. You will never forget the smiles of the villagers, camel rides, folk songs and the markets that are colourful.
